Pharmacy Consultation Service
Building on the success of the Queensland Community Pharmacy Scope of Practice Pilot and the Hormonal Contraception Pilot, these primary healthcare services are now permanently offered at participating Queensland pharmacies, including Manly Village Compounding Pharmacy. Our pharmacists have completed additional clinical training, allowing them to deliver consultations and support across a wide range of acute health conditions and preventative health services. Preventable Health Conditions
As timely access to primary healthcare services becomes increasing difficult, accessing contraception can be challenging for women across Queensland. Launched in August 2024, the Community Pharmacy Hormonal Contraception Pilot enables participating pharmacists to prescribe and resupply hormonal contraceptives to women and girls aged 16 and over without the need for a doctor’s appointment. During your consultation, the pharmacist will carefully assess your individual needs and may recommend a variety of contraceptive options. The contraceptives available through the pilot include Oral medications, Injected medication and Contraceptive devices. The contraceptives available include: Oral medications: the combined oral contraceptive pill (excluding high estrogen doses) and the progesterone-only pill. Injected medication: depot medroxyprogesterone acetate. Contraceptive device: the combined hormonal contraceptive vaginal ring. If you and your pharmacist decide on an alternative contraceptive method best suits your needs, this may result in a referral to another healthcare provider. Age Criteria: 16 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard for continued treatment or Long for initial treatment
Quit-smoking support and treatment for improved health. Age Criteria: 18 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard
Travel vaccinations and preventive health measures. Age Criteria: 2 years and older Recommended consultation length: Long

Acute Health Conditions
Treatment and management of nausea and vomiting. Age Criteria: 18 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard
Professional care and treatment for minor cuts, scrapes, and injuries. Age Criteria: 5 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard

Management of skin inflammation presenting with itching and redness. Age Criteria: 6 months to 65 years Recommended consultation length: Standard
Treatment of nasal inflammation from allergic or non-allergic triggers, which can include itchy, red, watery eyes. Age Criteria: Unrestricted Recommended consultation length: Standard
Management of an inflammatory skin condition resulting from clogged hair follicles under the skin. Age Criteria: 12 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard
Management of acute pain and inflammation affecting joints, muscles, or ligaments. Age Criteria: 18 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard
Management of mild inflammatory skin patches that are thickened, red, and covered with silvery scales. Age Criteria: 16 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard (unfortunately we are unable to provide treatment if the condition involves, face, scalp, groin, nails, palms of hands, soles of feet)
Treatment and management of acid reflux or regurgitation from the stomach. Age Criteria: 18 to 55 years Recommended consultation length: Standard
Treatment and management for red, itchy sores on the skin caused by a bacterial infection. Age Criteria: 1 year and older Recommended consultation length: Standard
Treatment and management of a painful and blistering rash that usually appear on one side of the body or face. Age Criteria: 18 years and older Recommended consultation length: Standard
The Chronic Conditions Management Pilot will continue until June 2026. The programs available in this Pilot include:
Comprehensive assessment and review of cardiovascular risk factors. Age Criteria: 18 to 79 years Recommended consultation: Chronic Conditions Management Pilot (free)
Treatment and Management of COPD symptoms, and review and development of an appropriate Action Plan. Age Criteria: 35 years and older Recommended consultation: Chronic Conditions Management Pilot (free)

Information on consent As part of the Queensland Community Pharmacy Scope of Practice Pilot requirements, you are required to provide clinical, financial and evaluation consent. Our pharmacist will guide you through this process and answer any questions.
Please note: Consultation times and fees are subject to the pharmacist’s assessment of your condition. If the consultation takes longer than initially estimated, the fees may be adjusted accordingly.
Pharmacy Services
Hormonal Contraception Prescribing
Pharmacists who have undergone additional training can now prescribe the contraceptive pill. Appointments vary from 20 to 40 minutes depending on whether it’s initiation or continuation, and can be made online to ensure that a qualified pharmacist is available

GLP-1 Support Clinic
Our registered nurse Shirelle specialises in supporting patients on GLP-1 treatments such as Ozempic, Mounjaro or Wegovy. To find out more about this service click here
Absence From Work Certificate
We can provide leave certificates for up to 2 days at the discretion of the pharmacist. Appointments can be made online or walk ins will be taken subject to staff availability
Mobility Aids (purchase or hire)
We have a wide range of crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, moon boots and more. Some products are available as purchase only due to hygiene reasons
Ear Piercing
We provide ear piercing services in our Health Hub for ages 6 months and over (please note parental/guardian consent is required under the age of 18). The price of the appointment also includes lobe piercing, a pair of studs and take home care kit.
Compounding Pharmacy
Our compounding laboratory at Manly Village Pharmacy is the only onsite compounding lab on the Bayside. As a Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia (PCCA) lab, our team takes great pride in preparing the highest quality compounded medications. Sleep Apnoea
Sleep apnoea is a condition where breathing stops for 10 seconds or more while you sleep. There are many types of sleep apnoea including obstructive and central. Obstructive sleep apnoea can be treated by our trained consultants using a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine. For more information, please click here.
Baby Clinic
Every Thursday, our pharmacy hosts a baby clinic run by our amazing midwife, Maree free of charge for all your baby care needs and guidance with a range of products suitable for your baby. Maree’s expertise and warm personality are in high demand, so we highly recommend booking a spot ASAP to secure your time with her. Home visits are now also available for a small fee
Vaccination Services
We are committed to improving the health of our bayside community by participating in the National Immunisation Program Vaccinations in Pharmacy NIPVIP Program which allows us to administer vaccines in our pharmacy without a prescription. First Aid and Wound Care
Our pharmacy stocks a wide range of dressings and first aid products to ensure every wound is treated appropriately. We can also assist in preparing first aid kits for your boat, club or home. Come in and speak to one of our friendly staff who can advise you on optimal first aid and wound care.
Diabetes Services
As a sub-agent for the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) we provide subsidised services for eligible diabetics. We also have a variety of machines, strips, needles and disposal aids for purchase. A Diabetes Medscheck consultation allows you to have a private one-on-one discussion with our pharmacist, and will provide you with better understanding of your medications and the condition. 100% funded by Medicare.
Home Medicines Reviews (HMRs)
Home medicines review is a free health service that can be performed regularly with a referral from your GP. This involves a home visit by our accredited HMR pharmacist who will assess your medications and any concerns you may have about your health. This assessment is utilised by your doctor and your pharmacist together to ensure you achieve the best treatment possible.
Medscheck
Many hospital admissions are medication-related, of which 50% could be avoided by better medication management. At Manly Village Pharmacy, we invite you to have a private sit-down consultation with our pharmacist to discuss your health and medications. This Medscheck service is free and 100% funded by Medicare. Speak to one of our staff members today to discuss your eligibility for this consultation.

Our staff are committed to continued education to keep up to the date with the latest research and developments in nutritional and natural medicine. Blood Pressure Checks
We conduct blood pressure checks as well as lifestyle tips and advice on how to improve your health. We also have blood pressure machines for purchase if you are considering implementing blood pressure checks into your routine.
Dose Administration Aids
We can help you manage your medications with medication packs (Medico packs, Webster-Paks). Medication packs are a safe and simple way to ensure you or your loved ones are taking their medication correctly giving you peace of mind.

Manly Village has always been a safe space for me to seek advice and pick up my essentials. After having my daughter I have absolutely loved attending their baby clinic. Maree is a midwife and has been an incredible support and wealth of knowledge for us. I can’t thank her (and all the staff at manly village) for being so helpful, warm and friendly. I would recommend for any parent with little ones. It’s not in my area but certainly worth the drive. I’ll be booking in every week for the clinic when we have our second baby!

The entire team at the Manly Village Compounding Pharmacy is incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. After my daughter was born, we regularly came to see child nurse Maree at the free baby clinic. Her advice and general support were invaluable to navigate the life and struggles with a newborn. Maree is knowledgeable, informed, patient and very caring. The regular checks gave me confidence, and it was always very enjoyable to see the pharmacy team.
